RETURNING TO WELLNESS

A group for anyone diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, Multi-system Atrophy,
Progressive Supranuclear Palsy or similar disorders, plus carers/friends

We have developed a group of like-minded people who are, or have been, challenged with Parkinson’s disease, Multi-system Atrophy, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy or similar disorders. The group is open to carers and friends as well.

This is a WELLNESS SUPPORT GROUP – not a disease support group – so we want our focus to be on what helps us become well, peaceful, and have fun doing it.

The intention is to share our experiences of moving towards wellness. We can discuss anything that helps us, or things we’ve tried that haven’t helped. We can share challenges and solutions, joy and sadness, optimism and frustration.

From time to time, we may invite a speaker to present new ideas, or a new view of old ideas. That is up to you. We want to know what YOU want to talk about, share and hear during our regular meetings.

We hold monthly meetings at our home/clinic: 10 Amberley Court, Bulleen (Melways 32 J11; car park and entrance at rear of property).

Please contact
Nichol or John on 9850 9048
to arrange your invitation to our next group.

There is no charge for the group, but if you wish to donate a gold coin to help cover, tea, power, toilet paper etc, we will be delighted. Please bring a small plate of healthy snacks to share (perhaps enough for you and one other).

Yours sincerely,
John Coleman and Nichol Hebert

TREATING NEURODEGENERATIVE & AUTOIMMUNE DISORDERS
A workshop for Health Practitioners

This is a one-day seminar running from 9 am until 6 pm approximately.  The material covered offers an insight into how and why neurological disorders develop, the physiological processes and changes during development, basic personality traits of those developing these disorders, and strategies for reversing the process.  If a number of Bowen Therapists are participating, time will be reserved to review and/or teach specific “neuro” moves and techniques to help in the recovery process

The day has basic structure, but is flexible in topic emphasis to cater for disparate levels of training among participants.  Those participating are expected to posses a reasonable knowledge of anatomy and physiology, especially processes such as the fight/flight/freeze response, water absorption and distribution, and the anatomy of human cells.

The cost per participant is $330 (inc. GST) and each participant will receive an 80 page manual summarising many of the topics. The cost also includes morning and afternoon tea plus a light lunch. Receipts and certificates will be issued, and some accrediting bodies grant CE Points for this training.  Participants will be entered on the Return To Stillness website as a “Preferred Practitioner” (subject to review and updating contact details).

Topics covered, not necessarily in this order, will include:

  • How My Involvement Began
  • Physiology of Stress
  • Parkinson’s Disease, What Does It Feel Like?
  • Other Neurological Disorders
  • Keeping A Journal
