Working Together

John and Nichol believe that we all have the power to be well if we provide the correct healing environment in and around our body.

The practitioners selected for referral hold this same belief and work with you to achieve optimal wellness.  John is a fellowship member of the Australian Naturopathic  Practitioners' Association (FMANPA)

John Coleman

For over twenty-five years, the practice has specialised in assisting those diagnosed with neurodegenerative disorders, autoimmune disorders, and Multisystemic Infectious Diseases Syndrome (“Lyme Disease”) to recover their health.

Lifestyle advice, remedies and therapies offered at Return To Stillness are all aimed at creating a total environment where your body can resume its natural condition of joyful good health.  At Return To Stillness, we are dedicated to helping you maintain your good health or overcome all health challenges, no matter how small or large, irritating or confronting.

John Coleman’s work has been pioneering in finding strategies to assist those faced with an ostensibly hopeless prognosis to restructure their life and find robust health.

Some of the confronting diagnosed disorders/diseases treated and helped at Return To Stillness during the past 25 years include Parkinson's disease, Multisystem Atrophy, Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus, Scleroderma, Fibromyalgia, Muscular Dystrophy, Post Polio Syndrome, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Peripheral Neuropathy, Post-Stroke challenges, and many others. Several people with undiagnosed or undiagnosable disorders have also been treated and helped to find their way to health.

In June 2023, John celebrated his 80th birthday and has decided to reduce his workload. While moving towards retirement, John continues to train and mentor naturopaths who have expressed interest in those diagnosed with these chronic disorders and aims to build a network of specialist naturopaths around the globe.

While John is the registered practitioner at Return To Stillness, the office and day-to-day management is left in the lovingly firm hands of Nichol Hebert, John’s wife and partner.

Nichol Hebert

Nichol graduated from Western Michigan University in 1993 as an Occupational Therapist. She spent over 14 years working with severely disabled children and those with
special needs in a variety of settings, as well as adults in a subacute rehabilitation setting. She also received advanced training in Bowen Therapy from several schools. She also received advanced training in Bowen Therapy from several schools.

She met John when he was lecturing in USA and, in 2007, migrated to Australia. They were married on December 2nd, 2007.

Nichol was diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease (Borrelia and Bartonella) after 25 years of misdiagnosis, mistreatment and neglect from the medical profession. She decided to use only lifestyle changes and Complementary Medicine, and aim for complete recovery. This was interrupted by a severe neck injury requiring surgery but, from late 2012, Nichol focused on her pathway to health. By the end of 2018, almost all her “Lyme” symptoms had resolved.

Despite her health struggles, Nichol has been the mainstay of office management at Return To Stillness, handling telephone calls, scheduling, packing orders and assisting chronically ill patients with practical advice she has found helped her. In her spare time, Nichol has developed their garden, taken care of the house and nurtured some rescued chooks.

Nichol has become an inspiration for many “Lymies” who see her ongoing health improvement as guidance for their own recovery.
